SEO is the art and science of persuading search engines such as Google, Bing, and Yahoo, to recommend your content to their users as the best solution to their problem.

• SEO split into two areas: on-page techniques and off-page techniques.

On-Page Techniques

• Are the methods you can use on your web pages.
• The keywords that people are likely to enter into a search engine it’s important, should you including these in the text and HTML code to help the search engines know that your site covers these topics.
• Ensuring that any images have text in the alt attribute also helps search engines understand the content of images.

One of the best tools for doing this is a free service offered by Google called Google Analytics(tracking code sends data to the Google servers where it is stored).

In order to put your site on the web you will need a domain name and web hosting.

• Domain Names
  • Your domain name is your web address,Usually you will have to pay an annual fee to keep that domain name.
• WEB Hosting
  • you will need to upload it to a web server,most websites live on web servers run by web hosting companies. This is usually far cheaper and more reliable than trying to run your own web servers.
  • There are lots of different types of hosting on offer.

FTP & Third Party Tools

• To transfer your code and images from your computer to your hosting company, you use something known as File Transfer Protocol.
• FTP (allows you to transfer files across the Internet from your computer to the web server hosting your site.)

• If you do not have photographs to use on your website, there are companies who sell stock images.

• The Image be Stock photo (from your deivce) or Online (using the image link)

• There are characteristics that are preferred to be available in the image that you will choose,like:
  • Be relevant
  • Convey information
  • Convey the right mood
  • Be instantly recognisable
  • Fit the color palette

Adding Images

• <img> , there is no closing tag , just / at the ending of opening tag

• Image tag have :
  • src : source “images — relative URLs”
  • alt : Alternative text
  • title : to provide additional information about the image.

• Height & Width of Images

  1. “Save images in the right format”
  2. “Save images at the right size”
  3. “Use the correct resolution”

• Image Resolution

• ‘Images created for the web should be saved at a resolution of 72 ppi. The higher the resolution of the image, the larger the size of the file.’

• Pexels is the smallest piece of picture or video

• Photographs are best saved as JPEGs; illustrations or logos that use flat colors are better saved as GIFs.
